Chatbot Commands

Streamerly's chatbot system allows you to create custom commands that can be used in your Twitch chat. These commands can help you automate responses, provide information to viewers, and enhance chat interaction.

Understanding Commands

A chat command is a specific word or phrase that, when typed in chat, triggers the bot to respond with a predetermined message. Commands always start with a prefix (like "!").

Command Settings

Each command has the following properties:

  • Command Name: The text that triggers the command (e.g., !discord)
  • Response: The message that the bot will send when the command is triggered
  • Access Level: Who can use the command:
    • Anyone: All chat members can use the command
    • VIP or above: Only VIPs, moderators, editors, and the broadcaster
    • Mod or above: Only moderators, editors, and the broadcaster
    • Editor or above: Only editors and the broadcaster
    • Broadcaster Only: Only the channel owner can use the command

Best Practices

  • Keep command names short and memorable
  • Use descriptive command names that relate to their function
  • Consider access levels carefully - not all commands need to be restricted
  • Test your commands after creating them to ensure they work as expected
  • Regularly review and update your commands to keep information current
