Chat Bot Timers
Timers send messages to your Twitch chat on a repeating schedule. Use them for periodic reminders, social media links, rules, or any content you want to share regularly.
Creating a Timer
- Navigate to Chat Bot in the sidebar
- Open the Timers tab
- Click Create Timer
- Configure the timer settings:
| Setting | Description |
|---|---|
| Name | A label to identify this timer |
| Message | The text to send in chat |
| Interval | How often the message repeats (in minutes) |
| Enabled | Turn the timer on or off |
- Save your timer
Use Cases
- Social links — Periodically share your Twitter, YouTube, or Discord
- Stream rules — Remind viewers of chat rules at regular intervals
- Call to action — Encourage follows, subs, or community participation
- Sponsor messages — Display sponsor information on rotation
Tips
- Don't over-spam — Set reasonable intervals (10–30 minutes). Too many timed messages can annoy viewers
- Vary your messages — Create multiple timers with different intervals for a natural feel
- Disable when offline — Timers only fire when the bot is active and the stream is live
