Chatbot Triggers

Chatbot triggers allow you to automatically send messages to your chat when specific events occur on your channel. Each trigger can be configured with custom messages and variables to create personalized responses.

How to Use Triggers

  1. Navigate to the Chat Bot section in your Streamerly dashboard
  2. Select the "Triggers" tab
  3. Click "Add New Trigger" to create a new trigger
  4. Choose the type of trigger you want to create
  5. Configure the trigger settings:
    • Set your message using available variables
    • Enable/disable the trigger
    • Set any additional options specific to the trigger type
  6. Save your changes

Variables

All triggers support variables that you can use in your messages. Variables are wrapped in double curly braces, like this: {{variable_name}}. Available variables vary by trigger type - check each trigger's documentation for its specific variables.

Best Practices

  1. Keep Messages Concise: Long messages can clutter chat
  2. Use Emotes Wisely: Add personality but don't overdo it
  3. Test Your Triggers: Use the test button to preview messages
  4. Monitor Chat Flow: Ensure triggers don't overwhelm your chat
  5. Regular Updates: Review and update your triggers periodically
