Mod the Streamerly Bot
For Streamerly to send messages in your Twitch chat — including alert notifications, chat bot responses, and automated messages — the Streamerly bot needs to be a moderator in your channel.
How to Mod the Bot
- Open your Twitch chat (either on your channel page or in the Twitch dashboard)
- Type the following command:
/mod streamerly
- Twitch will confirm the bot has been modded
That's it. The bot can now send messages and perform moderation actions in your channel.
Why Does the Bot Need Mod?
Without moderator permissions, the bot:
- Cannot send chat messages (command responses, alert notifications, timed messages)
- Cannot delete messages (for moderation features in Flows)
- Cannot send announcements
- Is subject to chat rate limits that would delay messages
Verify It's Working
Navigate to Chat Bot in the Streamerly sidebar and check the system settings. The bot status should show as connected once it's been modded.
